Gibson L-5 1930-1934 TruVintage guitar pickguard celluloid tortoise w/ aged binding
Brand new hand-made replacement pickguard for c1930-1934 Gibson 16” L-5 archtop guitars. The TruVintage pickguard design captures the look of an original Gibson pickguard that has aged but is a brand-new product. It is made from 100% real celluloid tortoise shell with a rigid semi-translucent acrylic backing for added strength and stability. It has a 3-ply aged ivoroid/black/ivoroid binding around the edges. Hand-buffed glossy finish. This is the longer L-5 pickguard Gibson started using on the 16" models around 1930 and extends from where the neck joins the body at the 14th fret to the bridge. It has the look of a vintage Gibson pickguard from the pre-WWII era. There are no other pickguards like this anywhere.
All pictures shown are representative of the pickguard you will receive. There will be variations in the tortoise shell pattern from one pickguard to another as each one is unique.
Note: Holes for mounting are not drilled in pickguard since exact location will vary from guitar to guitar and model to model.
