Gibson L-5 1924-1929 TruVintage guitar pickguard celluloid tortoise w/ aged binding

$269.00

Brand new hand-made replacement pickguard for c1924-1929 Gibson 16” L-5 archtop guitar including the Loar-era. The TruVintage pickguard design captures the look of an original Gibson pickguard that has aged but is a brand-new product. It is made from 100% real celluloid tortoise shell with a rigid semi-translucent acrylic backing for added strength and stability. It has a 3-ply aged ivoroid/black/ivoroid binding around the edges. Hand-buffed glossy finish. This is the shorter L-5 pickguard Gibson started using when the L-5 was first introduced in 1924 up until 1929 or 1930. It extends from the 16th fret to the bridge. It has the look of a vintage Gibson pickguard from the Golden Age and there are no other pickguards like this anywhere.

All pictures shown are representative of the pickguard you will receive. There will be variations in the tortoise shell pattern from one pickguard to another as each one is unique.

Note: Holes for mounting are not drilled in pickguard since exact location will vary from guitar to guitar and model to model.
